Earthquake and Tsunami Impact on EIZO Operations
Hakusan, Japan, March 24, 2011 – EIZO offers its sincerest condolences to the victims of the earthquake and tsunami in Japan and hopes that the devastated areas will be reconstructed as quickly as possible.
The following is an update regarding the impact of the earthquake and tsunami on EIZO operations.
Employees
We confirmed that all our employees were unharmed.
Japan Operations
Our sales and support offices in Sendai, Miyagi did not incur any material damage, but operations have been interrupted. Consequently, we are handling customer inquiries via our Tokyo and Hokuriku sales and support offices.
Impact on Production
Our manufacturing facilities in Japan (Eizo Nanao Corporation in Hakusan, Ishikawa and Eizo Nanao MS Corporation in Hakui, Ishikawa) did not incur any material damage. However, due to the difficulty in procuring components, we will have to suspend production for approximately two weeks beginning at the end of March. We are doing our utmost to minimize the impact and resume production as quickly as possible. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause our customers.
Impact on Business Performance
We are evaluating the impact of this earthquake and tsunami on business performance. If any events are confirmed to have a significant impact on our business performance we will issue a notification promptly.
