When connecting Mac (2018 or later) to an monitor with DVI input, screen flicker occurs or no image displayed.

 

 

- Phenomena

   Screen flicker appears on screen.

   A monitor may not show image.

  Mac released after 2018

   - Mac mini (2018),

   - MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018), etc.

 

- Monitor

  Monitor with DVI input connentor

 

- Connection

  Thunderbolt 3 (USB Type-C) to DVI conversion

  HDMI to DVI conversion

 

 

Regarding these phenomena, this is a known issue and currently there is no way to avoid it by monitor settings.

There is no third-party conversion cable or adapter that we recommend for conversion to DVI.

In order to avoid this problem, please use alternative connection other than DVI conversion if possible.
